Jimmie Ray Mcdonald

September 18, 1945 — March 30, 2021

Jimmie R McDonald passed away on March 30, 2021 in his home. Jim was born September 18, 1945, in Dallas, TX to Cecil R and Mary McDonald.  After he finished high school, he furthered his education with degrees from East Texas Baptist College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Jim served as the minister of Education/Administration at First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches, TX for many years and later as the Pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Cushing, TX.  When he retired from fulltime ministry, he worked with students at Mike Moses Middle School in Nacogdoches.

Jim loved his family, missions and prayer; he served Jesus by serving others.  Jim taught Bible studies at nursing homes in multiple cities and frequently took soup to church members who were homebound.   His family will especially cherish the memories of traveling and laughing together.

He is greatly loved by his wife of fifty-four years, Paula McDonald and two daughters, Shannon Hutton and her husband David, and Kelly Colleen McDonald, MD and her husband Scott Sill.  He loved being Paw-Paw and Big Papa to five grandchildren: Caleb and Zachary Hutton and Oliver, Daniel and Elizabeth Sill.  The McDonald, Sill and Hutton families appreciate your prayers as they mourn Jim’s passing but rejoice that he has entered his rest in the presence of the Lord that he loved.

A celebration of life service will be held at a future date at Central Church in College Station, Texas with a private internment. If you would like to express condolences to the family, please do so at Callowayjones.com. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the International Mission Board at www.imb.org/give/.
