Jeffrey Garon, 53, of Bryan, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, in Bryan. Visitation will begin at 1pm, with the Funeral Service at 2pm, on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.
Jeffrey was born November 30, 1968, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and departed this life on April 23, 2022. Jeff attended the University of Texas and was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Psychology. He earned a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University School of Law where he was on the SMU Law Review Association Staff. His career in law encompassed working at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice State Counsel for Offenders, Court of Criminal Appeals in Austin, Assistant District Attorney in Collin County and Brazos County. He was also admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of the United States. His career ended while he was working at the Attorney General of Texas Appellant Section in Austin.
Jeff’s hobbies were spending time with his children and granddaughters, fishing, and woodworking.
Jeff is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ethyl Horwitz Garon, Bert Garon, Melvin Hertz, and Adell Tatkin Hertz; his uncles, Lyle Garon and Richard Hertz.
He is survived by his parents, Nancy Hertz Garon and Allan Garon; wife, Cheryl Beard Garon; children, Mallory Laub (Patrick Tucker), Hunter (Shirley) Chauvin, and Spencer Garon; granddaughters, Madison Laub, and Aubrey Chauvin; his sister, Tammi Stein; 8 nephews and a niece; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rhonda Beard Lindsey and Gary Lindsey.
