Janette McMillian, 81, of Bryan, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, in Bryan surrounded by her family who adored her dearly. Graveside Inurnment will be at 2 pm, Saturday, March 19, 2022, in Franklin Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Ted Foote. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Janette Dewar Easton McMillan was born on October 25, 1940, to Robert and Helen Easton in Turriff, Scotland. In 1950 her family moved to the small community of Sandbank, Scotland where she graduated from the nearby Dunoon Grammar School. Next, she attended nursing school at the Killearn Hospital in Stirlingshire, Scotland graduating as a nurse in April 1961. After graduation, she returned home for a holiday and met a sailor serving on the USS Proteus, Mitchell McMillan Jr, at a Submarine Ball. Janette came to Texas in 1962 and married Mitch in 1963. She worked in the local area for several years as a nurse before opening a home daycare to be able to stay home with her son when he was born in 1968. She retired from being a home daycare provider about 2002 and enjoyed her retirement helping with her grandchildren and visiting with friends.

Janette is survived by her son Rob McMillan and his wife Paula, Her daughter Heather McMillan, and four grandchildren Joseph, Brahm, Ian and Brianna.
