James Tomasi

d. September 12, 2020

James D Tomasi was born in Ely, White Pine County, NV June 18th, 1938. He was 82 when the brain tumor he’d lived with for 30+ years, finally ended his life at 6 p.m. Saturday, September 12th, 2020 at home in Caldwell, TX with his wife of 31 years, Rhonda Tomasi.
He lived two paradoxical lives. The first 45 years he traveled internationally as an Entrepreneurial businessman, with best friend Denis Marchand, but once he experienced a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, the remaining years were dedicated to God’s service. His favorite saying was, “Jesus loves you, and so do I”. Another was, “Happy, Holy Hallelujah!” followed later with, “You and I are a little shaky, so who do we follow?” Then he would point upward and his face would light up with his famous smile.
He worked as a commodity broker in gold, silver, coal and multiple currencies. He never took life seriously, but instead chose to live life to its fullest. His biggest regret was that most of his children, who knew him before he met Jesus, never chose to build a relationship with the new man in Christ Jesus. He grieved for their love and a relationship, until the tumor crowded those memories from his brain. He never stopped interceding and asking the Lord to provide for them.
His Mother Cecile was born into LDS, or Morman heritage. His Catholic father, Lino Tomasi, was an Austrian/Italian descendant who refined metals. His step dad, Dale, adopted and changed his name to Morgan at 9 years of age. At 13 they moved to Japan, where he attended school in Narimasu High in Tokyo, until returning back to the U.S. 3.5 years later. In his 30’s he petitioned for his birth name.
His dear eldest sister, Marianne Burke, lives near Hillsboro, OR. While Myrna, 3rd oldest and his best friend growing up, lives near Denver, CO. His older brother Marcus and younger sister Mickey died over a decade ago.
James first wife, Peggy Harbuck Morgan died in a car accident in FL. Their children, Mitchell Dale and Tina Morgan were raised by his mother Cecile with Dale Morgan. Mitchell has 1 daughter, while Tina raised three wonderful young men.
He served 4 years in the Air Force as a medic where he met Denis Marchand,. Denis traveled with Jim for decades and resides in Louisiana. His life is featured in James’ first book.
Jim Morgan (as he was known then) became a talent agent in the CA/NV areas where he met and married Devvy Davenport after returning from tours in Spain and India. He promoted her for the pilot TV show “The Beverly Hillbillie’s”, western shows in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, as well as International venues including Hong Kong and Vietnam. Jim adopted her son, Biff. After giving birth to their son Dru J Morgan, they lived in Bangkok, Thailand and later Fiji. Dru and his wife Molly still live in Los Angeles, CA and have a beautiful family of 3 daughters Sierra, Scarlett and Savanah and 1 son Jamison.
James met an Oklahoma girl in 1973 while operating 13 bars and clubs in the Dallas, TX metro. They moved to Hawaii, then Fiji during their marriage, before returning to Tiberon, near San Francisco, then Dallas, Oklahoma and FL with their two daughters, Mandi and Meagan Tomasi. When the drug cartel tried to kill Jim in Daytona Beach, FL, DJ Battiest-Tomasi fled back to Oklahoma to protect their girls. All three now live in Oklahoma. Mandi Tomasi has 1 daughter Sophie Tomasi-Marsten, while now Miriam Tomasi, birthed Jillian Cruise, and later two grandsons, Alexander and Zachary Gold and a granddaughter, Samantha Gold who James never met.
Following his divorce, Jim experienced a close supernatural encounter with Jesus Christ. This part of his life is written in his book, Feed the Tiger. He relocated to Oklahoma in 1984 to be near his daughters. He dedicated his life to studying the word of God, and later was ordained and promoted by his pastor as an evangelist and Christian Economics teacher in Ardmore, OK. He developed strategies and sales materials for Satellite Source, for his close friend, Steve Grauel, while serving as a Deacon at a local church.
In 1986, debilitating facial pain spasms erupted in his face. They came and went over the next two decades. His business creativity remained intact in between the pain lapses. He hired Rhonda to work in a wholesale business, then a pizza enterprise that benefited churches in building programs. They both heard the Lord say they were to marry for His purposes. In January, 1989 they were wed at Turner Falls Chapel, and joined their families while operating 13 business’s in OK over the next decade.
In 1991 the condition was diagnosed by a Neurologist as tic’ de la rue (TN) or trigeminal neuralgia, labeled as “the suicide disease” in medical journals. After 6 more years, and multiple successful business ventures, James was about to succumb to this painful disease. Just before he planned to end his life, Rhonda heard a radio broadcast about Upper Cervical Care, which ended his pain eleven days after a UC chiropractic alignment by a female DC just 17 miles from their home.
James built Telecommunication teams in OK, AR, CA and TX. He was embraced and loved by his sales team in Houston, particularly Sohail Master, who was like a son. His brothers and friends called him,”Dad, our man of God”. He was ordained in 2000 by Pastor Sam Woods, Living Waters in OKC where he and Rhonda served as Deacons.
Several years later, God opened doors for James to speak at TN conventions and Specific Chiropractic conventions. He accepted a pastoral position at NLCC in Coeur d’ Alene, ID for two years before returning to a Marketplace ministry with the DC’s. James became a motivational speaker after his book, what Time, tuesday? launched in 2005. He led Mission trips to Costa Rica, Guatemala, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, UK and Isle of Wight. He served as a business pastor and advisor to the doctors and patients who met him.
He was featured in the movie, “The Power of Upper Cervical”, spoke at UC DC conventions, and at over 300 ‘Dinner with Doc’ meetings. He was given an Honorarium Doctorate Degree from Sherman College of Chiropractic in recognition of his decade long efforts to bring attention to Chiropractic as a healing Science . He helped launch the original Evolution meetings which provided the foundation that unified the specific business tribes under an ICA umbrella as Upper Cervical Chiropractors.
James cared and provided for Rhonda’s four children. Robert and Cristal Peddy (TX), {Kyler & Roman (UT)}, Dr. Roderick and Melissa Peddy, {Asher and Leighton,} (TX), Rebekah S Peddy and {Isabella Smith}, (OK), and Dr. Rion Peddy, (MI)
Honorable mentions from (OK) are Rudy & Lavonne Blanco., Mel and Vicki Trammel, Joshua and Bethel Vachha, (CA). From (ID) Jonathan Bell (deceased), Tom Ball, Tom and Serena Lucas, and Robert and Padma Rutley. Nic Tomasi, (NJ) was a Jew adopted in the 70’s during the Ayatollah mass execution in Iran.
There is much more, but these are highlights of one man’s amazing life, given as a Tribute to Glorify God through his yielded life.
