James (Jim) L. Bundren passed away at the age of 68 on May 24, 2024, in Bryan, Texas surrounded by his family and loved ones.
He was born in Austin, Texas, the oldest of five children, and moved with his family to Bryan, Texas where he would grow up and meet the future love of his life, the girl next door, Debra Johnson. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. He adored raising his four children and teaching them about the world and everything in-between. He enjoyed fishing, loved being outdoors in nature, and had an affinity for reptiles, particularly snakes. He was quick witted with a dry sense of humor, loved to laugh, and make others laugh. There wasn’t a vehicle he wouldn’t tinker with, or a problem he couldn’t solve. The stories he told and the knowledge he shared will stay forever with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and brother and put everyone else’s needs before his own.
Jim was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, and uncle. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Beverly and James W. Bundren. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debra S. Bundren (Johnson); his daughters, Jessica M. Bundren and Jacqueline G. Bundren, his sons, James E. Bundren and William T. Bundren; his grandchildren Dylan Berry and Adrianna Bundren; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Marsha and Cory Walton, JoAnn Jaehne, and Laurie and Chris Smith; his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Christie Bundren; several nephews, one niece, and numerous cousins.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
