Harvey Lee McFalls, 88, of Bryan went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2023. He was born December 28, 1934 in Star City, Arkansas to the late Port Arthur McFalls and wife Pauline Harvey. Loving wife Mary Alice of 65 years preceded him in death in October 2021. Harvey is survived by son, Jett Arthur McFalls and wife Kim; cousin, Sue Sullivan, and husband Homer; three grandchildren, Jett McFalls Jr. and wife Jacci; Kristen Davis and husband Randy; and Courtney McFalls; eight great-grandchildren, Kinzie (18), Faith (15), Kash (14), Rylee (12), Champ (12), Kalli, (10) Atlas (10), Starks (7); and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He graduated from Ouachita Parish high school in Monroe, LA in 1953. In 1955, he met Mary Alice Drew in Houston and they were married. He joined the Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in 1957 where he spent two years. He returned to Houston to work for Foley’s Department Store where he served as store manager. After two years at Foley’s he began a 20 year career with Sears Roebuck again as store manager at several locations around the Houston area. In 1980, he and Mary Alice opened a Sears Catalog Order Store in Trinity, Tx. In 1995, he retired and they moved to Bryan to be near family.
Harvey was a servant of the Lord, a faithful and loving husband. He was a talented pianist and served as music director/worship leader at several churches during his time in Houston. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Bryan where he served as deacon, bible class teacher, and Worship Leader. He enjoyed playing the piano and leading others in worship alongside Mary Alice. He was an avid gardener and you could often find him in his greenhouse tending to his African Violets and award winning orchids. He will be greatly missed.
