Gus Wager Jr, 87, of Bryan Tx, passed away Monday July 10th 2023 due to complications of the heart. As the oldest of twelve siblings Gus was an amazing role model to his eleven younger siblings. As a young adult Gus Wager moved to Bryan to start his own roofing company. Over the years many businesses and houses in the Brazos Valley have become well acquainted with the Gus Wager Jr Roofing Co.
When Gus Wager Jr was not roofing houses one could always find him out with his cattle and horses. As a cattleman Gus was very well known for his pure blood Red Angus. He prided himself on having gentle yet well producing cattle that everyone in the Brazos Valley came to know. Gus was a man of his word, and his handshake was unmistakably genuine: If he had business with you, his handshake sealed the deal.
Gus Wager Jr is survived by his children Jimmy Wager, Patsy Wager Gibson, and Janet Wager Jones. His grandchildren Cortney Gibson and Chris Gibson. As well as his siblings Tommy Wager, Peggy Bienski, Billy Wager, JC Wager, Darlene Moffatt, Chester Wager, Jerry Wager and Loretta Emola. Gus is preceded in death by his parents Gus Wager Senior and Minnie Wager as well as his brothers Louis Wager, Lee Roy Wager, Don Wager.
Although Gus Wager Jr. will be greatly missed by many, we are comforted by the knowledge that Gus is now in the embrace of God where he no longer feels pain or worry.
