Glenn Dale Escue, 67, of College Station, Texas joined his Heavenly Father on July 26, 2023, after a multi-year fight with dementia. Glenn was born on February 15, 1956 in Perryton, Texas. He was the youngest son of Irven and Retta Escue and spent a joyful childhood in San Angelo, Texas with his two brothers, Fred and John. In high school, Glenn enjoyed working at Neff’s Amusement Park where he developed a life-long enthusiasm for theme parks. During his junior year of high school, Glenn began working at Sears and worked his way up to become a department manager before graduating from college. Glenn married his high school sweetheart, Janice Crotwell, in 1975 and would welcome daughters Jessica and Jenna a few years later.
Fascinated with computer systems, Glenn graduated from Angelo State University in 1980 with a degree in Computer Science. He also completed many graduate hours in Management and Finance. Glenn later used his knowledge in computer systems with General Telephone and Electronics (GTE), Verizon, and the City of College Station. He loved the travel opportunities he had with GTE/Verizon and the friendships he developed through his work there. Glenn retired from Verizon in 2007 and the City of College Station in 2015.
In his spare time, Glenn loved competing in anything athletic and coaching his daughters throughout their various sports. Glenn’s greatest joy was working with his girls to perfect their skills and playing on the tennis court throughout the State of Texas. He continued playing tennis until his health declined.
Glenn’s faith was important to him throughout his life, and he especially enjoyed sharing his faith through the Gideons ministry. Glenn was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in San Angelo, and Brazos Fellowship in College Station.
