Gail Eugene Burch, Sr. went to be with the Lord on December 14th, 2020 after being on this earth for 88 years. He was born in Booker, Lipscombe County, Texas on March 9th, 1932 to Cloy Anderson and Connie Marie Burch. In 1955 he moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where he married Edith Joy McMahon and they remained married until 1982 when they divorced. He then met Linda Joyce Anthony and they were married in 1987 and they remained married for 33 years until his passing.
Gail served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955, was stationed in Korea, and was honorably discharged. He was a long time Texas law enforcement officer with his first job being at the City of Corpus Christi Police Department, Texas in 1955. He worked his way up through the ranks from Patrol officer to the Detective section where he achieved the ranks of Sergeant and Lieutenant. He left Corpus Christi in 1974 and took the job of Chief of Police in Huntsville, Texas where he worked until he resigned in 1980. He went to work for Brown Oil Tools as the Director of Safety and Security – Nationwide where he was responsible for all of their offices in North America and Alaska. After the down turn of the Oil Industry in 1987 Brown Oil Tools closed their office in Huntsville, Texas and he retired.
Gail was preceded in his passing by his parents, Cloy Anderson Burch and Connie Marie Burch, two brothers, William Anderson Burch and Cloy Monroe Burch, and his youngest son, Dale Anderson Burch Sr.
Gail is survived by his wife, Linda Joyce Burch, and Children Gail Eugene Burch Jr. , Raymond Daniel Burch and wife Rachel, Jeffrey Steven Burch and wife Inge, Alishia Kimball, and Niki K. Burch. He is survived by 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Gail donated his body to the Science department of Texas A&M University and there are no funeral services to be held.
