Freddie Edward Synatschk

June 8, 1932 — December 14, 2021

Freddie Synatschk passed away on December 14, 2021 at the age of 89 at Memorial Hermann Hospital of The Woodlands, Texas. He was born Friedrich Edward Synatschk on June 8, 1932 to Carl and Clara Mitschke Synatschk. He married the love of his life, Esther Elizabeth Biehle, on February 14, 1954.

Freddie was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church and a longtime member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Bryan, Texas. He was a devoted husband and father and an inspiration to many. Freddie was a quiet man, but when he met someone, he was funny and could talk to anyone. He worked with his hands and could fix almost anything. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an excellent hunter and fisherman. [True stories of his shooting prowess abound.] He loved camping and boating and after retiring, he and Esther travelled the United States in an RV.

Freddie is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Esther Synatschk, father Carl Synatschk, mother Clara Synatschk, brother Walter Synatschk, sisters Tillie Albrecht, Irene Davis and Dorothy Blasig and son-in-law John Nance.

Freddie is survived by his daughters Deborah Nance, Sue Walling and husband John and Patricia Silva and husband Tom. He has nine grandchildren: Jon Nance and wife Heather, David Walling and wife Mary, Jennifer Steen and husband Tim, Ashley Smith and husband Andrew, Sarah Parikh, Stephanie Bostick and husband Nathan, Katherine, Nickolas and Abigaile Silva. His great grandchildren include Kayden, Connor and Autumn Nance, Scarlet and Greyson Walling, Jewell and Kyle Steen, Everett, McKinley and Madison Smith, Nalini and Oliver Parikh and Nathan Jr. and John Henry Bostick. Freddie’s sisters are Annie Mae Rohde, Thelma Oberndorfer and Ruth Mertink. He has numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Special thanks to the staff of Grace Memory Care for their loving care of Freddie in the final months of his life.
