Edward Ronnie Markowski

Edward “Ronnie” Markowski, 78, passed away on December 7, 2022, at Fortress Rehab Center in College Station, Texas of natural causes. He was born in Houston, Texas on August 26, 1944, to William “Bill” and Alice Markowski. He then moved and was raised in and near Bremond, Texas.

He moved to Bryan, Texas in 1962 where he met Jewel K. Hampton and was married to her until her death in June 2005. He worked as a delivery driver for American Linen and Texas Industrial for 28 years. “Retired” and went back to work as a driver for St. Joseph Hospital for 4 years. “Retired” then went back to work for Fabric Care Cleaners for several years and finally completely retired in 2019.

He was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Church in Bryan, Texas. His hobbies were spending time at the coffee shop, playing dominos, mowing grass and most importantly spending time with family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Alice Markowski; sister, Helen Burda and husband Joe Jr.; brother, Edmond Markowski, Fred and Evelyn Markowski, Benjamin and Shirley Markowski; sister, Patsy and Albert Nemec; brother in law, Antone Slafka, and his loving wife, Jewel K. Markowski.

He is survived by brother, Stanley Markowski and wife Bonnie; sister, JoAn Slafka; son, Joseph “Joe” Markowski and wife Sandy; daughter, Patricia Jackson and husband Robert; 5 grandkids and 7 great grandkids.

Viewing will be Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is scheduled for Monday, December 12, 2022, at 1 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church with graveside following at Alexander Methodist Cemetery in Tabor, Texas.
