Dorothy Kelly

Dorothy Elizabeth Deacon Kelly of College Station, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on July 13, 2021. A graveside service will take place at Rest-Ever Park Cemetery on Friday, July 16, at 10:30am. Services are in the care of Callaway Jones funeral and cremation Center Bryan College Station Texas.
Dorothy was born November 12, 1922 in Fairbanks Texas. She moved to College Station in 1961 with husband, Roy William Kelly, their three children, her father and mother. They purchased land from Mr. Longmire south of College to run their dairy farm.
Dorothy worked at Texas A&M University Sterling C. Evans Library for 35 years. She retired in 1994. While working, she made most of her clothing and family  member also. After retiring, Dorothy volunteered at the a Bush Presidential Library since it opened 1997 and was asked by the museum archivist if she would be willing to make a copy of Barbara Bush’s wedding dress.  She is the Queen Mother to her quilting group creating beautiful quilts for her family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by daughter Jackie and husband Lee Culver; his sons, Roy William Kelly Jr., and wife Denise, Thomas and wife Elizabeth (Nettie) Kelly; her six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and other close relatives. Proceeding her in death, her parents, Cyril and Alberta H. Deacon; husband Roy William Kelly, sisters, Estelle and husband Sam Bilnoski, Emily and husband Harold Heiman.
