David loved the whole world. Along with the expert care he gave to his family and friends, he shared a piece of himself with each stranger he met. A man full of service. David was willing to do whatever it took to make everyone around him feel special and cared for. A light in the darkness. David always had a smile to give, a joke to tell, food to cook, and a laugh to share.
David Malcolm Williams died May 14, 2021. Services will be held for David’s celebration of life at Grace Bible Church, 700 Anderson St, College Station TX 77845, at 1:30 pm, Friday, May 21, 2021.
David was born to Karen Williams and Malcolm Williams in Wurzburg, Germany, March 4th, 1977. After living all over the world, he found his way to College Station, TX. here he found his lifemate Staci Grelle. They married May 29, 1999. He graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Agricultural Development, and raised three punk kids, who are rad and completely amazing. David loved to be in the middle of everything. He was invested in his people”s lives. David coached CSSC soccer, Little League baseball and city basketball for all his kids. He worked concessions at theater shows and cooked for football players. He was a deacon and supported the missionaries of Grace Bible Church. David loved exploring new places and going on great adventures. Travel often went along with supporting his kids or friends. You could always find him in the kitchen or at his smoker making 50 pounds of food to share with literally anyone and everyone. Feeding us with food and with his spirit, David lived a life dedicated to the livelihood of his people.
David loved his family endlessly. They were always his number one priority. He never missed an event, always cheered them on and purposefully embarrassed them in public. He truly gave them everything. He always said that they were his world and that made him happy. His one hobby, and favorite thing to do, was to cook. And man did he do that well. He smoked every kind of barbeque, he baked his own bread until it was perfected, and created meals out of seemingly nothing. His ability to create a meal was honestly an artform. David knew the name to every single bird, and you could always count on him to know the answer to a question, even if it was made up. He loved them so well.
David is survived by his wife Staci, his son Christopher (Paco), and his daughters Emma (Boots) and Amelia (Midge), his parents, his maternal grandmother, Janet Roland of Rochester, NY, his sisters and brothers, Taralynn and Scott Gruwell of Rochester, MN, Lara and Josh Pruett of College Station, and Kimberly and Daniel Shuck of Cypress, family on his wife’s side of the family Marvin and Karen Grelle and brother Brent and Christy Grelle of Clifton. David was the fun uncle “Funcle” to Riley and Boston Jarman, Spencer and Eddie Gruwell, Braedan, Zoey, Emersyn, and Ryan Shuck, Jace, Johnathan, Joseph, and Audrey Pruett, and Samantha and Jacob Grelle. He will be missed by a large number of extended family and friends, as well as the bacon suppliers of America.
