Daniel M. Starr, 92, of Bryan departed to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 8, 2022.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 14 at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan at 11 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10 am. Daniel was born in Lytton Springs, Texas the son of Raymond and Viola Starr. He was a member of Christ Church in College Station.
Daniel served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Libya and Germany. Upon returning to Texas he met and married the love of his life (Betty Starr). They had an amazing 69 years together before he left for his heavenly home. They began their life together in Hobbs, New Mexico where he worked on completing his college education earning a degree in accounting. He had two daughters and one son while in Hobbs.
After completing his degree, he worked with Exxon Oil Company and began his work career overseas always making sure his family was with him no matter where his assignment took him. Among the places his career took him were Libya, Vietnam, and Malaysia. He always loved his work and was a very dedicated employee. Upon retiring he returned to his beloved state of Texas and settled in Bryan.
Daniel loved to watch Aggie football and loved to read all types of history books and he could always remember all the details of what he read. He always loved watching Gun Smoke on TV every day. He was a very devoted husband and father. He taught his family all about Jesus Christ by the way he lived his own life.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and son Raymond Starr. He leaves behind
his lovely wife, Betty Starr; two daughters and their husbands, Debra and Jim Maggs;
Diana and Bob Osborne; two granddaughters, Kelli and her husband JC Regini; Kimberly Maggs; two grandsons, Scottie and Danny Osborne; and one precious great Cassidy “our baby girl” Regini.
