Cyndi was born in Long Beach California to Alonzo Wayne and Billie Joan Dunn and as a little sister to Gary Wayne. Cyndi moved to central California, Porterville, in her younger years. She graduated high school in 1974 from Porterville High. This was where she met the love of her life, Steve Bakalian. They married in 1976. Cyndi was educated with an AA and was the bookkeeper extraordinaire among one of her many extraordinary talents. Cyndi and Steve welcomed their first child Joseph “Joey” Wayne in 1981 and then followed with a 2nd son Nicholas “Nick” Steven in 1984. In 1996 Cyndi and Steve moved their little family of 4 to the harsh and beautiful Australian outback to commence a 20+ year life that involved farming and cattle. In 2009 Cyndi welcomed her first grandchild, Jack, then 2013 brought her Jake. 2007 saw the death of her beloved father and brought Sara (Joeys wife) into her life, Joey and Sara moved to California and thus began Cyndi “commuting” between the US and Australia. In approx. 2015 She and Steve made the break back to the US to call home again permanently. In 2015 Nick married his love, Rebecca and they made their way to the US permanently and Cyndi welcomed Nick & Rebecca’s first child and grandson #3 Chris in 2017, finally 2019 her only granddaughter, born to Nick and Rebecca was gifted to her. Cyndi’s whole world was completed when she moved into her dream home on Ironwood Ranch in Bryan TX with her whole family within reach. Her Grandchildren were her whole world, and she was fiercely protective over all her family and would help anyone with huge heart, everyone was welcome at her home, and you never left hungry or without an open invitation to return at will.
Cyndi leaves behind footprints on the hearts of everyone she touched. Especially her legacy will live on through her husband of 48 years Steve, her son’s Joey and Nick, their wives Sara and Rebecca, grandchildren Jack, Jake, Chris and Matilda. Her brother Gary and his wife Elizabeth.
