Conrad Rhea Pauling

November 20, 1939 — June 24, 2022

Conrad Pauling, 82, of Bryan, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022, in Bryan. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, with his Celebration of Life at 10 am, Thursday, June 30, 2022, both at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center. Interment will follow in Rest Ever Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Conrad was born on November 20, 1939, in Marlin, Texas, to George E. Sr and Rosella Woodland Pauling. He was a graduate of Marlin High School. He went on to attend Sam Houston State University and earned a degree in Criminal Justice. He met Vonnie Nell Riggs in Bryan, Texas, whom he subsequently married on December 23, 1961.

Conrad proudly served in the United States Military for ten plus years and earned the rank of captain. He proceeded to work for the Bryan Police Department for more than ten years. He then worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital as Chief of Police and Security in Marlin and Temple for twelve years.

Conrad was a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he served as the song leader for many years. He was a member of several veteran organizations and was dedicated to helping veterans however he could.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Brothers George Pauling Jr, James Pauling, and Step-Grandson Clint Werth.

He is survived by his wife of sixty plus years, Vonnie Pauling, his children, Connie and husband Cash Reed, Carol Pauling and fiancée Mark Skinner, Mark and wife Melissa Pauling, Amy and husband Don Werth; his grandchildren, Jasmine Reed and husband Tom Dobson, Lane Reed, Cassie Reed and partner Ahmed Butt, Taylor Loehr, Matthew Loehr, Steven Pauling, step-grandsons Ross Gibson and Aaron Gibson, Harley Hamilton, step grandson Dustin Werth; his sister, Janette Fairman; numerous nephews and nieces; many other relatives and close friends.
