Cindy D. Still

October 27, 1939 — January 6, 2024

Cindy was born October 27, 1939 in Dallas, Texas to Harless & Lucy Dyer of Henderson, Texas. She grew up in Henderson and attended college at North Texas University, Kilgore College and Sam Houston University where she obtained a teaching degree in Education. She taught elementary grades in the Bryan School system for 25 years.

Cindy was a lifelong Methodist and enjoyed visiting churches when she traveled. She traveled many parts of the world from above the Arctic Circle down to the Antarctic.

Cindy had a full life. She raised horses and attended horse shows in her youth. She snow skied, water skied and loved boats. She flew airplanes, sailplanes and rode in hot air balloons. She loved OPAS and was active in OPAS serving as a member of the Board of Directors. She loved BVSO, the Brazos Symphony and assisted them for many years.

Cindy married Charles E. Still ‘60 while he was a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band and enjoyed 65 years of marriage. They had two children, Mark and Tammy. She is preceded in death by her daughter Tammy, and parents Harless and Lucy Dyer. Cindy is survived by her husband, Charles and son Mark. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Nelda Dunn.

The Stills made their home in Bryan and College Station since 1959. In January 2023, they moved into Arbor Oaks, a Methodist Retirement Community in Bryan where she met many new and old friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Amedisys Compassionate Care Hospice.

The family would like to thank Crestview Skilled Nursing for taking care of her during her illness.

A visitation for Cindy will be held 2:00-4:00 pm, Tuesday, January 16, 2023 at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center in Bryan. Interment will be in College Station Cemetery.
