Cheryl Herrin

October 29, 1954 — March 4, 2025

Bryan

Cheryl Leigh Herrin, 70, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born in Beaumont, Texas on October 29, 1954, to Billy Ray and Shirley Mathyer Goins. She later moved to Baytown, Texas and graduated from Ross Sterling High School. During this time is when she met her best and lifelong friend Terri Scott.

Cheryl was a strong believer in God’s grace through Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and religiously woke up at 3:00 am to watch her favorite sermons on Shepherd’s Chapel. Cheryl’s greatest joys in life was spending time with her family and loved ones. Her favorite places were Crystal Beach, Gran & Pappy’s on the Bayou and The Farm in New London, Texas.

Cheryl was an incredibly smart and strong woman who always wore her heart on her sleeve. She wasn’t afraid to let you know exactly how she felt whether right or wrong. She was a loving mother of five and a Memaw to eight grandchildren who all meant the world to her. Cheryl always kept her heart and her door open for anyone who needed her and earned the name Mamma Herrin from all that knew and loved her! She was truly a great and wonderful person, who was always there for you when you needed her.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents Billy Ray and Shirley Goins, her best friend Terri Scott, and many more dear loved ones.

Survivors include her sister Rebecca Wilhelm (Clifton), her brother Greg Goins and their families; her children Josh, Jason (Liz), Sean (Sheliah), Lisa (Justin) and Matt; grandchildren Wesley, Benjamin, Jalah, Tray, Halle, Brooklin, Ellison and Kylin.

The family would like to thank all her friends, loved ones and a special thank you to Darrell and Michelle for always being there for Cheryl throughout her life.

You will be dearly missed Mom! We love you always!
