November 16, 1934 — September 6, 2024

Charlotte Eloise Breazeale Adams Nowell passed away peacefully from natural causes in the home of her son and daughter-in-law in College Station, Texas on September 6, 2024.  She was born in Attala County, MS, on November 16, 1934, to Jim and Dena Breazeale.

Eloise was devoted to her Christian faith throughout her life, and for many decades she regularly played the piano for church services.  After moving to Texas in 2016 to be near her son and daughter-in-law, she faithfully attended First Baptist Church of Bryan, Texas, for as long as her health allowed.  Prior to this, she attended Crestview Church in Kosciusko, MS.

Early in her adult life Eloise had the privilege of experiencing worldwide travel while married to Lt. Commander (Ret.) Alton L. Adams.  Throughout her life she enjoyed composing poems and songs.  She was also a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her children, Dr. Jewel Adams of Houston, TX, Dr. Marvin Adams (Jenny) of College Station, TX, and Denise Boykin (Mark) of Lebanon, TN; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jimmy Devon Breazeale and Dathan Breazeale, both of Kosciusko, MS.

Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Dena Breazeale, and her sisters, Floyce Blanton and Linda Vanderford.

A service will be held at First Baptist Church of Bryan, TX, at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2024, in room 136 near the west entrance.  A reception will follow.  The family plans to hold a second service at a later date in Kosciusko, MS.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Allumine Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Eloise in her last months.
