Charles (Sam) Clark, 86 passed away peacefully Friday, February 4, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be at Callaway Jones On Wednesday, February 9, 2 to 4pm. Funeral Service will be at Bethel Lutheran Church Thursday, February 10, 2022 10:30AM, Graveside Military Service Following at Bryan Cemetery.
Sam was born August 29, 1935 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to John and Claudia Clark. Sam graduated from Guthrie High School in 1953. On November 7, 1953 he married Ruth Lester. Sam joined the US Army where he served 2 years. He was transferred to Upper Hayford, England. Ruth was soon to join Sam in England. Paps loved to share his Army stories with his grandchildren. They loved listening to the same ones over and over. When he was discharged from the Army in 1956, they moved to Wellington, KS. This is where Sam began his career as an electrician. He started out climbing electrical poles and retired in 2001 as an Executive at Boyer Electric in Houston.
Sam was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. He is a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Bryan. As his Dementia came on and he could still attend church he loved singing the Alleluia’s. Pastor Bard and Pastor Eden would sing Hymns when visiting what joy that would bring dad,
Upon retirement the Chalet was supposed to be the place. although it wasn’t It brought many memories for dad and mom. Dad loved family and friends. Everyone was always welcome at the chalet.
Sam was preceded in death by parents John and Claudia Clark, mother in law Louise Lester, brother John, sister and brother in law Joan and Von Hudson, Nephew, Gary Hudson
He is survived by his wife of 68 years Ruth, Daughters, Kim Cueto (Paul Fousek), Marcia Ponton (Colton), Sister, Sue Dobbs, Sister in Law, Judy Clark, 4 Grandchildren, Renee Marberry (David), David Drury (Trisha) Kandice Burns (Robert) Samantha Aubry (Andrew). The 10 Greats of Mum and Paps. Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and many close friends.
The family would like to express its grateful gratitude to Sam’s Caregivers at Hudson Creek. They loved and cared for him and the family as if it were their own. And a special thank you to Jasmine at Allumine Hospice. She shows so much care and compassion going through a process of life we have never been through before.
