Charles F. Merritt

Charles F. Merritt passed away on September 13, 2024, at the age of 67, in College Station, Texas. Born on March 5, 1957, Charles grew up in Oswego, New York, where he graduated from Oswego High School in 1975. He furthered his education at Hallmark Photography School in Worcester, Massachusetts, earning his degree in 1979.

Charles dedicated 14 years of his career to selling cars at Sterlings, where he was well-regarded for his professionalism and warmth. Beyond his professional life, Charles was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Aggies baseball and football teams, and he enjoyed playing golf. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, who brought immense happiness and laughter into his life.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Sova, and their children: Charles and Amanda Merritt and their son Eli; Daniel and Veronique Merritt and their children Athena and Kade; Courtney and Nick Gates and their children Adoniah, Kenyan, and Asher; and Clayton and Mary Merritt. He was predeceased by his parents, Clayton and Lucille Merritt.

In place of flowers, contributions in memory of Charles can be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

The family has entrusted Calloway Jones Funeral Home, located at 3001 S College Ave, Bryan, TX 77801, with the arrangements for Charles’s passing.
