Carrie Daphne Eller

January 7, 1933 — March 14, 2025

Bryan, Texas

On Friday afternoon, March 14, 2025, Carrie Daphne Eller went to Heaven, a place she was so looking forward to going! She was reunited there with her parents, Irby and Ada May, and her youngest son, Robert “Bob” Eller, after living here on Earth for an amazing 92 years.

Daphne was born on January 7, 1933, in Donie, Texas. She grew up in the small town of Mexia, where she met Jim Eller, whom she later married when he was a student at Texas A&M. After living in College Station, Jim and Daphne moved to Amarillo upon his graduation where he was stationed at the Amarillo Air Force Base. In 1955, their first child, Susan, was born when Daphne went back to Mexia to await her arrival. Later, after moving to Richmond, and then on to Sugarland, Jimmy and Bob joined the family in 1958 and 1959.

After Daphne and her family moved to Bryan, Texas in 1963, she experienced a great life as a stay-at-home mom, real estate agent, den mother, Little League and 4H parent, and all other activities associated with her kids. She made many dear friends, enjoying Bridge Club, dinner parties and travels with them. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church in Bryan and the Mary Porter Sunday School Class, where she worked for many years as the church secretary and wedding director. She was involved in the community as a member of The Woman’s Club, volunteering as a “Pink Lady” at St. Joseph Hospital, serving on the board of The Salvation Army, and many other activities. She was a world traveler and loved antiques, having an eye for beautiful furniture and decorating.

Daphne’s family was her delight in life and she cherished her times with them. Affectionately known as “Nay”, a nickname Bob gave her when he was a kid, she is survived by her children: daughter, Susan Guest and husband, Gary; son, Jimmy Eller and wife, Debbie; and daughter-in-law, Trish Eller. Her ten grandchildren are DeeAnn Eller, Carrie Kubichek and husband Jeff; Katie Andrews and husband Jarod; Erin Castillo and husband Alverto; Casey Guest and wife Lauren; Robert Eller and wife Natalia; Callie Alford and husband Steven; Ross Eller and wife Lauren; Kaylee McCoy and husband Cameron; and Courtney Guest. Great grandchildren are Kolby, Kyle, and Kamryn Kubichek; Jace, Jett and Jaxxon Andrews; Camille Castillo; Casen and Carter Guest; Adelyn, Bryce, and Aubrey Alford; Emma and Scarlett Eller; and Liam and Reagan McCoy.

Services for Daphne are pending for a later date.
