Carol Larue Scamardo

Carol Scamardo, 88, of Bryan, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 surrounded by her family in Bryan. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 1pm, Monday, June 7, 2021 in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers.

Carol was born on August 19, 1932 in Houston, Texas to William Louis Meyers and Lillie Athalia Dahms Meyers. She married her husband of nearly seventy-one years, Marion Scamardo, on November 11, 1950 in Houston. Together they would turn a house into a home for their children, Debbie and Sam Jr. Carol was a homemaker tending the needs of the home and caring for her family. She was an extremely good cook, loved baking her pecan pies and lemon squares. She was a great mother as she encouraged her children to strive to be the best in all they do.

Her parents; her daughter, Debra “Debbie” Lynne Scamardo all preceded her in death.

Carol is survived by her husband, Marion Sam Scamardo Sr.; her son Marion Sam Scamardo Jr; her sisters, Genelle White, and Pam Underwood; her sister-in-law, Pearl Marie Robertson; her very close and dear friend, Cheryl Denise Hanks; and other relatives and friends.
