Britt Alan Watson passed away on December 12, 2022, at the age of 50.
Britt, affectionately known as Brother-in-law (and a few other unmentionable names) was born in Bryan, Texas on February 1, 1972, to Royce Earl Watson and Jackie Harding Watson. As the youngest of three children, Britt had a very mischievous childhood leading to many escapades, adventures, and stories that are probably best left untold. During his school days he was active in Junior ROTC, played football, and was on the swim team. Shortly after high school, he got his CDL and began truck driving. Britt was the proud owner of Cowboy Up Hot Shot Service for several years. His first child, Cheyenne, was born in 1993, followed by his two sons, Hunter and Dakota.
In 2004, Britt met the love of his life, Shana, through mutual friends. They were happily married on July 10, 2010. During their 12 years of marriage, they were blessed with their two children, Grayson and Kynnslee.
When Britt was younger, most of his days were spent causing trouble with his brother, Brad, and cousin, Norman. His mother, father, and sister Michelle earned more than one gray hair from his antics. Bea, Bobbie, Beth, and BJ could probably share some of those better-left untold stories. He made lots of memories riding bulls with Norman, Hunter, Dakota, Brandon, or anyone else crazy enough to join. When Cheyenne was in high school he enjoyed watching her play softball. Britt also loved going to the beach and made many great memories with Grayson and Kynnslee and the love of his life, Shana. Britt was also a devoted caregiver to Shana’s parents, Nana and Pawpaw. During those times there was always laughter to be had as Pawpaw and Britt bantered back and forth.
In his free time Britt liked to hunt, watch football, and spend time with loved ones. Family and friends were a huge part of Britt’s life. He spent many evenings playing dominoes and drinking moonshine with his Brother-in-laws. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. Britt loved to talk politics with anyone who would listen. He often instigated lively Facebook “discussions”. He enjoyed supporting his Longhorns in a room full of Aggies.
Britt is survived by his wife, Shana Watson, and children, Cheyenne and spouse Nate, Hunter, Dakota, Grayson, and Kynnslee, and grandchildren Pystol, Khysum, and Carlee. Parents, Royce Watson and Jackie Watson. Siblings, Michelle Baker and husband Johnny, brother Brad Watson. In-laws Cynthia “Neicy” Raley and her husband Fred, Teresa Russell and her husband Mike, Stephanie “Ta” Luce and her husband Judd, Sharyle Macik and her husband Kirk, Melissa “Bea” Crain and her husband Robert Henry as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.
To honor Britt’s life, his family has planned a visitation on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Calloway-Jones. His Life Celebration will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Reliance Cemetery. Following the service, everyone is welcome to join the family for food and fellowship at Hope Evangelical Free Church in College Station.
