Brenda Sue (Campbell) Wooten, 74, stepped into glory on Sunday, November 28, 2021. Born on August 15, 1947 in Lebanon, Ohio to Zachariah and Gladys Campbell, she was the fourth of six children. She moved to Wichita Falls, Texas in 1969 where she met the love of her life, Bill Wooten, in 1970. They married in November 1970 and started their family in 1972 with the welcome of their son, William. The family of three moved to College Station, TX in 1975 and they welcomed their daughter, Stephanie in Jan 1976.
Brenda loved her family dearly and made them a priority in everything she did. Her favorite past times included quilting, card making reading and basically anything crafty. She passed on her hobbies to her children and with her daughter-in-love, Nonie, along with her grandchildren. At some point growing up, each grandchild was involved in scrapbooking, sewing or quilting and they loved spending time with her. Brenda spent just shy of 20 years working for Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory on the Texas A&M University Campus where she enjoyed meeting and working with several folks she became friends with. However, her favorite part at work, was being able to work at the same place as her daughter.
Brenda is preceded in death by her mother and father, and sisters Lois Roten and Reva Race.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years and one week, Bill Wooten, son William Wooten (Nonie), and daughter Stephanie Horn (Richard). Brenda had five grandchildren, Sarah Rayburn (Dakota), Lauren Oakley (James), Matthew Koch, Jordan Koch and Devon Horn. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Teagan, Claire, Audrey and Shane Oakley, her brothers Bill Campbell (Joyce) and Jack Campbell (Sandy) and sister Rose Fritts (Larry). Brothers-in-law Jerry Doss (Tammy), Randy Doss, Howard Roten and Bob Race and a sister-in-law Gayle Bailey (Bruce) Brenda also leaves behind several nieces and nephews whom she loved all dearly.
Memorial service will be Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11:00 am at Texas Avenue Baptist Church in College Station, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests making donations to the Missions Fund at Texas Avenue Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
