Brandy was a lifelong and much-loved member of the local community. She was born February 20, 1981, and was the second of six siblings. She grew up in Bryan and attended BISD schools including Bryan High. For the last 13 years, she was employed by Reynolds and Reynolds.
Her relationship with God was of utmost importance in Brandy’s life. She had a deep faith in her Lord and lived each day with a passion for spreading the love of Jesus to everyone she met. She was a member of Skybreak Church and joyfully participated in worship, fellowship, and service. Brandy faithfully lived out her favorite Bible verse: “Let all that you do be done in love – I Corinthians 16:14.” Her lasting impact on people was mostly due to her selfless acts, love of life, and heart for people. Brandy’s joy, thoughtfulness, and bubbly personality warmed so many hearts and brightened countless days. She had a knack for making everyone feel special and cherished. Birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and other occasions were always remembered and celebrated. We are all so grateful to now have them documented with pictures and selfies galore! Brandy made this world a better place through her Christ-like spirit which will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by those who were blessed to have known her.
Brandy is survived by the love of her life: her husband, Cris DeJesus. He was her rock, her protector, her partner, and her “Papa Bear.” In Brandy’s words, “…[I] prayed so hard God would give me a child… [and] God heard my cries.” She was blessed with Johnathan Avendano and Isabel DeJesus, named in honor of her late great-grandmother. Through her marriage to Cris, Brandy gained her first beloved daughter, BreAnna DeJesus and later grandchild, Kataleya. In addition to her immediate family, she is also survived by her mother and father, Santos and Alfredo Caballero III. Also grieving her death are her siblings: Christopher Caballero, Liza Aguilar, Abram Caballero, and Robbie Caballero. Brandy was closely involved in each of the lives of her five nephews, two nieces, great nephew, and great niece. Surviving paternal grandparents are Linda Caballero and Alfredo Caballero Jr. She will also be missed by her mother-and-father-in-law Maria and Jose DeJesus, three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and the rest of her extended DeJesus family. Other survivors include numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins unnamed. She was preceded in death by her brother Joshua Caballero and maternal grandparents.
Her family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care given to her at Bryan St. Joseph Health Center (special thanks to her attentive nurse, R.J.), and for the prayers, love, and support shown by family, co-workers, and many friends during this heartbreaking time.
The family humbly appreciates any donations to assist with the medical and funeral expenses. We are so very thankful for any amount given during this difficult time. Donors may refer to https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-with-funeral-cost-medical-expenses.
