Bonnie Ferrell Howard Burlbaw, born in Albuquerque, NM in 1948, a resident of Bryan/College Station for over 35 years, passed from this world on March 28, 2025, after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her children, her husband and her best friend from junior high school.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Lynn M. Burlbaw (He proposed to her in the 9th grade but didn’t marry her until 20 years later.) and her children: Brandy Webb Kosh of College Station, TX, and her husband, Kevin; Brandon Van Webb of Iola, TX, and his wife Hillary; Jason Anthony Burlbaw of Bryan, TX, and his wife Sonia; and Susan Burlbaw Lincoln of Bulverde, TX, and her husband Jason as well as her grandchildren: Brandi, Dylan, Peyton and Adam Kosh, Della Webb and Emma King, Orion, Donovan, and Arianna Burlbaw, Jason and Kaitlin Lincoln; and great grandson, Jackson Boultinghouse. She is survived by her sister, Bridget Austin of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Kelly Howard, of Placitas, NM; and in-laws, Edward Burlbaw of Las Cruces, NM, Ellen Key of McKinney, TX, Frederick Burlbaw of Sachse, TX, and Norma Coffelt of Boise, ID. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, Boyd C. Howard; her mother, Della Ferrell Rose Howard and her sister Shawn Howard DeMers.
She had a wide circle of friends including Donna Forbis Berg of Colorado Springs, CO, (girlfriend since junior high), Tonya Britton of Navasota, TX, and Lisa Trampota of College Station, TX. She was loved by many of her husband’s Texas A&M University students.
She worked for the United States government for 32 years, most recently at the George H. W. Bush Library in the audiovisual archives, retiring in 2014. Prior to that she had worked for various doctors and medical establishments in Bryan and College Station.
Bonnie enjoyed her dogs and spending time at the beach combing for shells. At home she loved to do jigsaw puzzles, read books (especially the Outlander series) and watch television: she loved any show that dealt with medicine or first responders. After retirement she and Lynn traveled extensively. They especially enjoyed cruises. On her “bucket list” was to go to the top of the world (Iceland and Norway in 2023) and the bottom of the world (Argentina, Chile and Antarctica in 2024). They had made plans to go to England and Scotland in 2026 (to see the places in the Outlander series).
A wife, mother, sibling, grandmother and pet parent, Bonnie will forever be missed and remembered with love by her two- and four-legged family. In lieu of flowers, Bonnie would be honored by a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
She has been cremated; a memorial is planned for later this summer.
