Barbara (Bobbie) Olivares, 64, of Bryan, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2020, in Houston with family by her side. The family invites you to join them to celebrate her life at 2 pm, Friday, September 4, 2020, at Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, 3001 South College Ave, Bryan, Texas. Please gather at the funeral center for visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.
Bobbie was born in San Antonio, Texas to Robert and Barbara (Stowe) Cultice. She graduated from John Jay High School in 1974. She married Ricardo (Rick) Olivares in 2003. After staying home with her four children, she then went to work for Texas A & M for 25 years before retiring from the university.
Bobbie was a breast cancer survivor and was active in her local support group, The Pink Alliance. She was also a member of the Brazos County Auxiliary VFW Post 4692. She loved to spend time in her craft room and her greatest love was her grandchildren.
Bobbie is survived by her sons, Mike (Adrien) Brzoznowski of Iron Mountain, Michigan and Bob (Caroline) Brzoznowski of San Antonio, Texas; and daughter, Jeanne (Josh) Lazenby of Katy, Texas; eight grandchildren Gracelyn, Ayda, Mary, Brad, Ava, Madison, Leah, Paige; mother, Barbara Cotten; sisters, Connie (Mel) Stallings and Debbie (Carlos) Murillo; brother, Terry (Jo) Cultice, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her dad, Robert Cultice; son, Ed Brzoznowski; and husband of 17 years Rick Olivares.
