Billy Glenn Thomason

June 10, 1955 — July 16, 2023

Billy “Pop Pop” Thomason, 68, passed peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who was proud of his Louisiana roots.

Billy was born on June 10, 1955, in New Orleans, LA to Ellis and Dorothy Thomason. He grew up in Bunkie, LA and moved to Houston, TX in 1970. Billy worked construction most of his life before retiring in 2005. He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed being the family chef at every gathering. He loved fishing but his favorite pastime was spending time with his kids and grandkids, affectionally earning the nickname “Pop Pop.”

He never met a stranger and always had a great one-liner ready to make you laugh. His big heart was felt by everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed, but his family finds peace that he is with his Lord and Savior. He has lived in Magnolia, TX for the last five years.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Eliis and Dorothy Thomason and brother, Gerald “Pat” Purdion. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Thomason of Magnolia; daughter, Nicole Solecki and son in law, Joe Solecki and grandchildren, Jack Solecki, Kristin Bellows and Shane Bellows, all of College Station.
