Billie Tatom Posey

March 28, 1932 — August 1, 2020

Billie was born March 28, 1932 in Spring Hill, Louisiana to Flora Carroll and Willard Howard Tatom. She radiated beauty with her deep personal faith and joined the Lord August 1, 2020 in Bryan, Texas. Callaway-Jones Funeral Center will conduct her service August 6th.
Billie graduated high shool in Arkansas and earned a Certified Nurse Aide certificate soon after. Her passion for helping others began at an early age by helping raise her younger brother, Charles, when their dad passed away. She helped neighbors by watching their children. She has helped in many capacities through her church and the community. Billie nurtured a 62 year marriage and was blessed with 2 sons, Steve and Michael (Mike). In 1970, they moved to College Station where she worked as a bank teller and then at the Texas A&M Research Foundation. When she retired she was able to spend more time on her crafts of quilting, painting and gardening. Billie enjoyed sharing her plants and seeds with friends and family.
Billie treasured her children and embraced every moment spent together. She loved talking about their accomplishments and was so proud of the men they became. Her most cherished role was being MomMom and Granny to her grandbabies. There wasn’t a birthday party, school function, or just a nice weekend spent together that she missed. She spent so much time with them doing what they loved, that each will tell you they were her favorite.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Al Posey. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Steve and Suzanne Posey (Universal City, TX) and Michael and Renee Posey (Lubbock). Her grandchildren are Grayson-Michael Posey; Jacob and wife, Nina Camille Posey; Hannah Posey; Katy Nail; James Nail; and her brother, Charles and wife Lou Tatom. She also is survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Posey and Shirley Posey and numerous neices and nephews.
There is no doubt her love for us will be missed. Our family kindly appreciates your understanding and we know that Mom would want to keep those she loves safe and healthy during these times. Due to restrictions limiting the number of attendees, the funeral service will be held for the immediate family only. We hope to hold a celebration of her life with everyone soon.

“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.”
