Betty Arnold

September 9, 1943 — January 8, 2021

Betty Katherine Kalil Arnold, 77, of Bryan TX, passed away peacefully in the loving embrace of her children and her dog by her side on January 8, 2021. 

 Betty was born September 9, 1943, to Ima Lucille Lagrone Kalil and Jimmie Kalil.  She graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in 1961 and attended Centenary College in Shreveport LA.  Her primary residences were Shreveport, LA, Farmer’s Branch, TX, Madison, MS, Allen, TX, and Bryan TX.
She was known for her amazing smile, warmth, devoted service to her organizations, and boundless energy in pursuit of hobbies and interests.  Over the past 25 years, She was a beloved leader and member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Texas First Families, and recently was inducted into the Order of the Eastern Star.  In these organizations, she served in several positions in her local chapters as well as nationally, has volunteered thousands of hours, researched/procured and assembled volumes of historical and family records, and has cherished many special friendships within these groups.  She had a career in oil and gas exploration before retiring early to have fun with her best friend and love of her life, Bobby Arnold.   They shared passions of hunting, fishing, outdoor life, crafts, cooking & entertaining, and both supported each other’s interests, passions, and families.  
Preceded by her mother Ima Lucille Lagrone Kalil and Jimmie Kalil, her husband Robert James “Bobby” Arnold, Jr, her grandson Tyler Richard Lavers, and her fur-babies Stephanie, “Bonnie” Lee, and Yellow Rosebud “Rosie” of Texas.  

Survived by her children Kelly Suzanne Copeland Lavers (Jeff) and Donald Patrick Copeland, Jr, her grandchildren Shane Thomas Lavers and Nicolette Marguerite Lavers, her step-children Robert James Arnold III, Deborah Lynn Arnold Fullen, and her fur-baby Paisley Grace.
