Adolfo Rios

September 27, 1948 — February 2, 2024

February 2nd is the day the light dimmed, the colors faded, and Adolfo Rios allowed his body to find peace. Peace from a hard-fought yet brief battle with colon cancer.

Adolfo worked hard all his life. From the cotton fields in his youth to decades with Moore Business Forms which later became RR Donnelly and retiring after 44 years. Those of us left behind will remember Adolfo as the larger-than-life character that rode Harleys, enjoyed karaoke, wrote and recorded his own songs, and lived his life boldly and unapologetically. Well-loved and known to family and friends by his monikers: Cuerp, Pops, and Big Daddy.

Adolfo is preceded in death by his parents Alberto and Inez Rios, goddaughter Elia Anita Rios-Cadena, in addition to numerous family and friends. You can pretty much bet Adolfo made his ride up to the Heavens on the back of a rumbling and roaring Harley. One can only imagine the grand ol’ happy reunion happening up there.

He is survived by Sarah, his wife of 37 years. His daughters, Yvette and Margaret;  and his granddaughter, Adamina. His “bonus” children, Kimberly and BJ; his “bonus” grandchildren, Carter, CJ, and Colbi. Adolfo has 5 surviving siblings; 3 brothers, Natividad (Patsy), Santos (Linda), and John (Christine); and  2 sisters, Francisca and Anita, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 29, 2024, a couple days past what would have been his 76th birthday, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home, 3001 S. College Ave in Bryan. Express condolences at www.CallawayJones.com
