Wesley Howard Carver at age 65, passed away on May 17, 2024, in Bryan, Texas after battling congestive heart failure. He was a loving father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and community member. He was preceded in death by his father Howard Carver and mother Martha Carver, He is survived by his son Cameron Rogers Carver, daughter Carli Chrisann Carver, granddaughter Emersyn, brothers John Robert Carver and wife Laticia and Joe Don Carver and wife Sharon, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Wes was born October 24, 1958, in De Queen, Arkansas and moved with his family in 1961 to Naples, Texas. He and his family were very active in the Paul Pewitt Independent School system where his parents were employed and as well as the First United Methodist Church in Naples. Wes graduated from Paul Pewitt High School in 1977, after which he moved to Bryan and attended college. Wes quickly made friends and found his place in the community selling cars. He was known to many for his kindness and generosity, his cooking for others at large gatherings and sporting events, and for his teddy bear hugs and infectious laughter. Family and friends would gather often at Wes’s barn where many fun memories were made playing pool, watching sports, and watching his son and friends practice hitting in his batting cage.

He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

A Celebration of Life honoring Wes will be held Friday, May 31, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 3001 S. College Ave, Bryan, TX 77801.

  1. Our thoughts and prayers are with Wes’s family. We are so happy to have seen him at class reunions and at the visitations of his parents. A good friend from kindergarten class as Ms Martha’s taught our group at her house, not at school. Growing up together in the Methodist Church in Naples. Will miss you Wes, so thankful you are at peace and health again
