Rachel Medrano, 76, of Caldwell, passed away on December 31, 2022 in Bryan, Texas. A visitation will be held from 4pm-7pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Center in Bryan.

Rachel was born on January 18, 1946 in Bryan, Texas. She was a devoted Catholic who enjoyed baking, gardening, embroidery, dancing, cross-stitching and watching television.  Her favorite pastime was doing scratch-off tickets and spending time at the casinos.  She enjoyed drinking coffee while looking out the window and loved spending time with her family. She retired from Sanderson Farms.

Her family shared, “miss me but let me go. When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not for long, and not with your head bowed low.”

She is survived by her loving husband, Emilio Medrano; her children, Johnny and wife Debbie Gonzales, Ruben A. Gonzales, Mary I. Gonzales, Joyce Gonzales, Raymond C. and wife Angela Gonzales Jr.; 26 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; and numerous friends and extended family. She will be greatly missed.
