Perry Shepard
Perry Shepard was born in Claude, Texas on Februray 24, 1932 and passed away peacefully in College Station, Texas, on September 9, 2023.
He was the third of four children born to Jess and Golda Shepard. In 1937 the family moved to farm and ranch in Loving, Texas and later moved to Graham, Texas where he graduated from Graham High School in 1949.
He attended Texas A&M and graduated class of 1953. Perry was commissioned into the army and continued his service for 14 years in the active reserves. Later he was employed by A&M as a counselor for the Corps of Cadets and became research analyst for the university; worked for Bank of the Southwest in Houston; then returned as head of Industrial Economics at Texas A&M. Perry later had his own bank chartering business. Before retiring, he served as bank president in Marble Falls and Garland, Texas. He also served on multiple bank boards, as well as the Chamber of Commerce, the Brazos County Industrial Foundation, the Rotary Club and served as president of Briarcrest Country Club.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Troy Lee Shepard, his sister Joyce Bullock, and two sons, Willam Alan Shepard, and David Chaney Shepard.
He is survived by the love of his life, wife Lynda; Karin Shepard the wife of his son David, sister Sharon and Barry Watson, daughter Cindy and husband Billy Hygate of Henderson, NV; daughter Sherri and husband Wesley Gideon of Tiki Island, TX; and son Glen and wife Michelle of Houston, Tx. Another love of his life was his eight grandchildren; granddaughter Paige and grandsons James, Andrew, Cameron, Grant, Perry, Jack, and Parker.
Perry was a member of the First Baptist Church Bryan and of the
Encouragers Sunday School class.
Perry loved golf, tennis, church activities and playing cards. He was a friend to everyone he met. He was the greatest husband, brother, son, dad, and G-dad and will be missed beyond measure.

Mr Shepard was one of a kind. I have fond memories of him.
Very fortunate to have known him almost all my life.
He was a dear friend to my dad, Don Ladewig
