Patricia Kay (Derr) Scharber passed away peacefully at home on February 14, 2024 at the age of 86, in the care of Hospice Brazos Valley of Bryan, Texas.  There will be a private internment for family at the Houston National Cemetery.  Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers of Bryan, Texas.  

Patricia was a graduate of Elk River High School at Elk River, Minnesota.  She married Ronald G. Scharber, U.S. Army (Retired) and lived in Germany while raising their only daughter, Deborah.  

Patricia was actively involved with her church family at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in College Station, Texas.  She was a longtime volunteer worker for the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary and implemented “Life Life” with Sister Gretchen.  

Patricia was devoted to her family and is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Scharber) Hardt of College Station and brother, Doug Derr of New Hope, Minnesota and sister-in-law, Judy Derr of Phoenix, Arizona.  

She is preceded in death by both her parents and her brother, Michael Derr.  

The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful care by the nurses and staff at Hospice Brazos Valley.
