Oralia “Chatha” Fernandez, 36, of Calvert, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022, in Bryan. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 pm with the Rosary Recited at 7:30 pm, both at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center, 3001 South College Avenue, Bryan, Tx 77801. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10AM, Saturday, March 26, 2022, at St. Mary’s Church – Hearne with the interment to follow in San Jose Cemetery. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

“Chatha” or “Riley” as her family and friends knew her, was born to Alejandro Fernandez and Lydia Trujillo on August 31, 1985 in Bryan, TX . She was a young spirit full of life and lived for her two children, Zachary and Khloe. She enjoyed spending time with them and supporting them with their extracurricular activities, she was their biggest fan. She loved them immensely and they were her pride and joy

Oralia attended W.D. Spigner Elementary and Junior High School, both in Calvert, TX. She then graduated from Hearne High school, class of 2003 in Hearne, TX where she truly enjoyed her high school years. Upon graduation, she attended the University of Houston for a short period.

Oralia had a smile brighter than the sun and enjoyed joking around and making people laugh. She loved her family. Her nieces and nephews meant the world to her. She loved to cook, and her desserts were amazing. She was a big country music fan and George Strait was her favorite. She was a people person and loved working with the public as many of her jobs were in public service where she excelled. She will greatly be missed by all but mostly her family. She will be remembered most of all for her “big heart and “beautiful smile.”

Oralia is preceded in death by her Paternal Grandfather, Manuel Fernandez, Maternal Grandfather, Luz “Butch” Trujillo and Maternal Grandmother, Sarah Ortega Trujillo.

She is survived by her father, Alejandro Fernandez and wife Susana of Calvert, Tx; her mother, Lydia J. Trujillo of Calvert, TX.; her children, Zachary and Khloe; her sister, Beverly A. Trujillo of Calvert, TX, her children Alyssa Brooks, Devion Huffman, McKenzie Huffman all Bryan, TX.; her brother, Joaquin Fernandez of Calvert, TX., and sister, Alondra Fernandez of Calvert, TX. numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
