Michael Ray Wortman

Michael Ray Wortman, 76, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, in Bryan, TX surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on April 12, 1948, in Decatur, Illinois to Norman and Norma Wortman. He moved to Bryan, TX in 1980 and fell in love with Aggieland. Mike was a drilling instrumentation technician for oil field service companies for over 30 years. After retirement, Mike manned the fuel center at Sevcik Service Center in College Station. Oh, how he loved his customers!

Mike was a husband, dad, grandpa, teacher, coach, friend, neighbor, prolific tomato grower, tireless worker, deer hunter, fisherman, lover of nature, St. Louis Cardinals fan and Aggie baseball fan.

Those who remain to cherish Mike’s life include his loving wife, Kathy; daughter, Sara Wortman Daw and her children, Bailey and Landon; daughter, Abbie Wortman Gilmore and husband, Jonathan and their children, Emma, Phillip, and McKayla; son, Jacob Wortman and his wife, Mallory and their children, Sutton and a baby boy expected soon; Pat and Mark and co-workers at Sevcik Service Center and other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life tribute is planned for Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 4pm-7pm at Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 3001 S. College Avenue, Bryan, TX. Express condolences at www.CalllawayJones.com.
