After spending a joyful weekend surrounded by his family and friends, Matthew Milton Johnson, 38, was called home to his Lord and Savior on September 10, 2024. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18th at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center in Bryan, TX, from 6:00-8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home on Thursday, September 19th at 10:00 am with interment immediately following at Aggie Field of Honor & Memorial Cemetery in College Station, TX.
Matthew was born on July 20, 1986, in Bryan, TX and was the middle child of Clifford and Rhonda Johnson. He was a proud father to three wonderful boys and was deeply loved by his family and friends.
Matthew was a 2004 graduate of Bryan High School where he was actively involved in wrestling and football. He was also a dedicated member of the Bryan FFA. Matthew’s vibrant spirit was evident in his passions and relationships. He loved riding motorcycles, especially with his big brother, and cherished any amount of time spent with his family and friends. His fun-loving, charismatic, and generous nature touched everyone he met. Known for his hard work, loyalty, and unique sense of humor, Matthew had a rare ability to bring joy and laughter into any setting.
One of the most significant moments in Matthew’s life was his public declaration of faith through baptism on June 27, 2021, at Brazos Fellowship Church in College Station. This choice brings tremendous peace and comfort to his family during this time. Matthew was a man of faith and loved Jesus fiercely, and the lasting impact that he made on the lives of others through his faith journey is one that is inspirational and remarkable.
He leaves behind his three sons, Ethan (mother Raechel), Preston & Skylar (mother Deanna), who were the center of his world; parents, Clifford & Rhonda Johnson; Brothers, Zachary (Janita) Johnson, CJ (Lauren) Johnson, Dustin (Jana) Johnson & Wesley (Angel) Brown; sister, Ciara (Anthony) Davis-Fajkus; nephews Randy Johnson (Rylie), Shelton Johnson (Taryn), Rowdy Johnson, Noah Davis, Elijah Davis, Mason Brown & Levi Johnson; nieces Jaycee Johnson, Cambree Johnson, Kylee Johnson, Lyla Johnson, Isabella Brown and Sage Brown; girlfriend, Liz and her four children, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Matthew is preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie & Nellie Johnson and OJ & Hazel Rushing, brother-in-law, Gabriel Davis, and numerous beloved uncles and aunts.
Matthew’s absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his legacy of love, joy, and faith will endure in the hearts of those he leaves behind. May he rest in peace.
