Matthew Cole Weiman of Bryan, Texas, died on November 4, 2022, in Bryan, from a congenital heart condition at age 18. At the time of his passing Matthew was a senior at MC Harris High School of Bryan Independent School District and was anticipating a December 2022 graduation.
Matthew was born to Mendy Smith Weiman and Shawn M. Weiman in College Station on December 23, 2003, the youngest of their two children.
His world was one of great joy in movies, fantasy gaming, and working with his hands. Animated motion pictures captured his attention early on, especially “Aladdin” and “The Lion King.” As a child, Matthew enjoyed singing songs from the movies around the house. Matthew excelled at computer games and was especially proficient in Minecraft and Call to Duty. As a young adult, Matthew worked at Wings N’ More in College Station, where it was a joy to eat his beloved his hot, hot, hot hot wings in addition to serving them to customers. The hotter the better as far as he was concerned!
Things he enjoyed most also include basketball; he began playing with the Upward program but turned to following his favorite teams on television, especially the Los Angeles Lakers and the Houston Rockets. He also played some soccer and did well at gymnastics. Matthew’s family recalled he worked up a karate routine to the popular song, “Eye of the Tiger.”
Matthew is survived by his Mother, Mendy Weiman, older sister, Shawna, both of Bryan; grandparents, Gary and Deann Weiman, of Bryan, grandfather, James Smith, of Houston, many aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
Services for Matthew will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center in Bryan. Visitation with family and friends will be from 2:00–3:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 pm, officiated by Certified Celebrant Dawn Lee Wakefield.
Burial at Kurten Cemetery will occur immediately following the Life Celebration. Pallbearers include Brian Causey, Ron Weiman, Stan Perry, Craig Smith, Layne McClendon, and Pete Riojas.
The family expresses great appreciation to Boot Barn for their support at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family via CashApp at $MendyWeiman would be greatly appreciated.
