Resided in: Bryan, Texas

Our families have suffered a great loss, Matthew Brian Winn, was called home by God on Friday, July 2, 2021 in Houston. We will honor our son with a Memorial Service, at 2 pm, Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center. Reverend Monsignor John A. McCaffrey, our long-time family pastor and friend, will preside over the service. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Matthew was born in Bryan on the wonderful spring day of April 24, 1989, to young parents Cullyn and Rhonda Winn. He was an adventurous young kid seeking the unknowns of his life. Matthew enjoyed reading from an early age and was often found seeking adventure in literature. He especially loved reading the Bible. Anyone who knew Matthew and his heart, knew he was a follower of God.

Matthew graduated Bryan High School in 2007 and excelled in his coursework. After high school, Matthew attended college for a short time. He became a dad to his children, Allie and Gabriel, whom he loved dearly. He enjoyed taking walks in his neighborhood or just setting a path for adventure all the while absorbing God’s beauty in creation. He was passionate about spending time with family and friends. He had a kind soul and a giving heart, always seeking to brighten someone’s day. Matthew always had the brightest of days when he was with his family, especially if there were tacos involved, which was undoubtedly his favorite food.

His great-grandparents, Harry and Maggie Pfeffer, and grandfather, Russ Kerr, all precede Matthew in death.

He is survived by his children, Allie and Gabriel; his mother, Rhonda and step-father David Havel; his father, Cullyn and step-mother Kimberly Winn; his siblings, Steven Havel, Madison Havel, Trey Winn and Anica Winn; his grandparents, Rosaland and Frank Gerlach, Kathy Kerr, Buddy and Sheri Winn; his aunts and uncles, Chaney and Misti Kibodeaux, Jerry and Nancy Winn, Stephanie and Jimmy Henson, Logan Winn, Cody Kerr, Mandi Toumbs, Randi Toumbs; his great-uncle, Harry Pfeffer; his cousins, extended family and close friends.

Matthew was continually making strides to be the best man he could be, the best dad to his children, and looked forward to coming home to Bryan to be with his family. Our hearts are broken as we prepare to say farewell to our son, brother, father, and friend.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial scholarship fund has been established through Prosperity Bank USA for both his children, Allie and Gabriel. Donations may be made at any Prosperity Bank location in Bryan and College Station areas.
