Mary Janine Solomon, 67, of College Station, Texas, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Peach Creek Ranch.

Janine was a wildflower at heart who never let any grass grow under her feet.  She loved taking care of her family, was an exquisite cook, sought after travel and adventure, and was an avid gardener.

Janine was born on October 16, 1955, in Quitman, GA, to Henry Robert Huffmaster and Mary Frankie Huffmaster. She married Lee Solomon on June 21, 1975, in Quitman, GA, and they spent several years traveling the world while Lee served in the Air Force.  The couple later moved to College Station, TX, where they made their home.  Janine retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons before founding Urban Rubbish Floristry with her daughter-in-law Jaelynn.

Janine was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Sammy Huffmaster, Sandy Collins, Bobby Huffmaster, and Doug Huffmaster.  Janine is survived by her husband: Lee Solomon; her children: Brett and Jaelynn Solomon of Bryan, TX, and Gant Solomon of College Station, TX; grandchildren: Lyric, Valon, and Bonham Solomon of Bryan, TX; and sister Beth McConnell of Clarkesville, GA. Also survived by Lee’s son Brandon Johnson, his wife Ashley, Grandson Tyler, and Granddaughters Makenzie and Hartley.
