It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Stacell, a beloved father, son, friend, and colleague. Mark left this world on June 22, 2023, at his home in Missouri City, Texas, after a courageous 14-month battle with Glioblastoma. His departure leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him.

Mark was born on April 20, 1962, in Bryan, Texas. He was a remarkable individual who lived a life filled with purpose and dedication. 1. Very sad to hear of Mark’s passing and my heart goes out to his family. Please know that he touched the lives of those that he met along the way. I had the pleasure of working with him during his time at A.E. Wood Fish Hatchery in San Marcos. There were many adventures during those years. From spending hours doing research to improve fish culture techniques, writing reports and sharing knowledge – he embraced them all with boundless energy, a thirst for knowledge and a sense of humor. Peace to you Mark as you leave this world behind and move on to the next.
