Manuela “Mela” A. Hernandez, 75, of Bremond, received her wings and went to walk with the angels on February 7, 2022. Visitation is 5pm with the Rosary at 6 pm, on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Center in Bryan, Texas. The funeral service will be 11am, Saturday February 12, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan, Texas. The burial will be at St. Mary’s in Hearne, Texas following with a celebration of life reception with the family at the Club House in Hearne, Texas.

Manuela touched many hearts by being strong, giving, funny, kind-hearted, family-oriented, and a joker. She was always willing to help others, a great listener, and provided companionship. In many people’s eyes she was considered a loving mother or grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her mother Prima Alvarado, father Jose’ Alvarado, two sisters, and four brothers.

She is survived by her loving husband Cesareo “Chayo” Ogaz; her daughters MaryAnn Ramirez and spouse Albert Garcia, Ernestina and husband Juan Hernandez, Victoria Ramirez, Alice Hernandez-Rodriguez; her son Christopher Michael Hernandez; grandchildren Tiffany, Crystal, Issac, Antonio, Jazmine, Mark, Jose, and Karina; along with great grandchildren Elias, Nathan, Khelani, Izaleyda, Aaron, James, and a bundle of joy on the way. She is also survived by her sisters Bernarda and husband Jose’ Perales as well as Janie and husband Frank Montelongo.

Honoring Mela as pallbearers are Jose’ Torres, Mark Fajardo, Antonio Hernandez, Issac Hernandez, Juan Hernandez, James Mejia, Rigo Perez, and Jesus Moreno.
