Manuel Martinez passed away peacefully at the age of 69 on October 3, 2024, in his hometown of College Station, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 12th from 2pm to 4pm at Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Center, 3001 S. College Avenue, Bryan.

Manuel was born February 16, 1955, to Macario and Erlinda Martinez in Burleson County, Texas. Manuel grew up with 3 brothers, Macario Jr, Bonifacio and David. And 3 sisters, Janie, Mary and Elise. They grew up in a close-knit family where they learned the values of kindness, compassion and hard work.

After graduating high school, Manuel joined the Army and began his active duty on July 12, 1974, and was released from active duty on July 11, 1977, with an honorable discharge. Manuel loved fishing, hunting and going to the casino with his aunts. He is also known for his sense of humor an especially enjoyed teasing his niece, Margarita. Manuel will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched. He was a loving son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and friend.

Manuel is survived by his children, Lisa Halter, Jason Martinez, Manuel Martinez Jr, Sonya Martinez and Donnie Martinez, 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, sister Elise Mixon, and brother David Martinez, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and friends. Manuel is preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Macario Jr, Janie, Mary, Bonifacio.
