Lynn was born on November 16, 1937 in Macon, Georgia to Thomas Coleman Hodge and Nona Strother Hodge. She spent her childhood in Perry, Georgia as an only child.
As a young adult she met and soon married James Randolph Scott “Randy” on March 7, 1958 in Dallas. Randy and Lynn had four children together. They spent the majority of their lives in College Station, but also lived in Oklahoma and Galveston. Lynn did not want to leave the beach at Galveston, but soon the Spirit of Aggieland captivated her heart, as she and Randy attended every Aggie Football and Baseball game and hosted many bonfire celebrations with hot chili for all. Lynn worked at Texas A&M Admissions and Records from 1972 to 1975. She was the Assistant Ring Clerk for the Association of Former Students from 1975-1996, during this time she was able to personally present Aggie rings to several family members and close family friends which filled her heart with joy.
On August 7, 2004, Lynn married Randy’s childhood best friend, Virgil “Sam” House of Bryan, Texas. Sam and Lynn enjoyed their retired years together building an antique business and spending time with grandchildren.
Lynn is preceded in death by her father Thomas Coleman Hodge, mother Nona Strother Hodge, and first husband Randy Scott.
Lynn is survived by her husband Sam House, children Debbie & Stanley Kelley of College Station, Beth & Mike Sharp of Grapevine, James Scott of College Station, Laurie & Brad Hulse of Austin, Mike House of Whitesboro, David Maret-House of Bryan, grandchildren Casey Sharp & Fiancé Justin Rumenapp of Arlington, Mickial Sharp of Arlington, Marcie Sharp of Anchorage, Alaska, Haley & Blair Kelley of Hutto, Lindsey & Blaine Scott of Rockport, Savannah & Dustin Rychlik of Pearland, Dustin Hickman of Bryan, Britney & Tim Gafford of Bryan, Kayci House of Graham, Kelsey Kelley of College Station, Josh Scott of College Station, Kaley Kelley & Fiancé Lance Bauer of Fredericksburg, Daevin House of Heartland, Michigan, Randi Beth Hulse of Austin, Martha Francis Hulse of Austin, Noah House of Bryan and ten great grandchildren. Lynn you will truly be missed. RIP
Aunt Lynn you will truly be missed. Thanks for the great memories I have of you. You fought hard like the Aggies and won your reward. Until we meet again.
Prayers and love to the entire family. Being a friend of your daughter Laurie has brought so much joy to my life. I always enjoy hearing about your love for the Aggies and supporting those traditions.
I’ll miss running into Lynn and Sam out junking/antiquing. She always had a bright smile and a cheery Hello and brightened my day for having visited with her.
My sympathies to Sam and their families.
May the peace of God fill your hearts today ♥
