Louis was born to Louis E. and Andrea Muniz on May 15, 1958, in Giddings, Texas. The second oldest, he grew up with three brothers and two sisters. He attended school in Giddings and graduated from Giddings High School. Louis started working at a young age. His first job was shining shoes at the local barbershop and then he worked for Ruben Schneider Motor Co. After high school, he was employed as a sheet rocker in Houston. He then worked for his father at Muniz Electric where he learned his trade as an electrician. He then worked for H.B. Zachry before starting what would be his career at Texas A&M University. Louis recently retired after serving over 30 years at Texas A&M University. While at Texas A&M, he worked at the Physical Plant, then later became the Facilities Coordinator for the Department of Chemical Engineering. While working in Chemical Engineering, Louis received many awards and recognitions.

Louis was an adventurous and daring person growing up. As a youngster, he attempted many Evil Knievel stunts on his bike. His next more daring adventure was bull riding. He also enjoyed his bowling leagues and many softball tournaments. Louis loved sports, especially any Aggie sport and the Astros. Most of all, he was the biggest supporter of any team that Mandy and Matthew were on. He also enjoyed fishing, golf and poker with his buddies, and could tell you many stories about their good times at the river cabin and poker nights. If you would ask anyone that knew him, they would say that Louis was one of the most selfless people you could ever meet. He never knew a stranger and would give anyone the shirt off his back. To his kids, he was the jack-of-all-trades, and he knew and could do anything, and he always made sure to try and accomplish anything for them. His kids were his pride and joy, and he was always happy to tell you about their careers or any story from their childhood.

He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his niece Makayla Jane Muniz, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Louis is survived by his two children, whom he loved dearly, Mandy and Matt Muniz. As well as his parents Louis E. and Andrea Muniz, brother and sister-in-law Anthony and Deena Muniz, sister and brother-in-law Teresa and Donald Becker, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Brenda Muniz, brother and sister-in-law Mark and Dora Muniz and sister and brother-in-law Delores and Ron Smith. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
