Lori Foster Smith died peacefully on June 9th, 2020 in Waxahachie, TX at the age of 74.

Lori is survived by her husband, Larry Smith; her sisters Liz Warren and her husband Ron, and Linda “Sissy” Foster; her daughter Trisha Peil and her husband Gary; her son Beau Burns and his wife Faith; step-children Natalie Smith, Bill Smith and his wife Cindy;  grandchildren Sarah Peil Winstead and her husband Austin, Hannah Peil Rainey and her husband Jimmie, Aaron Peil, Joshua Peil, Jordyn Nowatka and her husband Jonathan, JC Hodgetts and his wife Tiffany, McKenna Burns, Miranda Burns, and Brody Burns; great-grandchildren Nora Hodgetts and Jett Hodgetts; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Maurice and Mary Lee Foster.

Lori’s life was characterized by family and faith. She loved traveling all over the world with her husband, Larry; and was always looking forward to the next family adventure. She fiercely supported her grandchildren in all of their endeavors, and made the effort to attend every possible sporting event, recital, concert, or grandparents’ day for as long as her health permitted. Lori was steadfast in her faith and her love for Jesus, and she found great joy in singing the traditional hymns of the faith. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and concern for all who knew and loved her. 

A funeral is scheduled for Monday, June, 15th at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church of Bryan where she was a member. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lori’s life. A visitation will follow the service at First Baptist Church of Bryan. A private interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.

  1. So sorry to hear about Lori’s passing. We loved having Larry and Lori as neighbors in Collierville TN. Very passionate about most things and I respected her for that. Very very generous! Glad she was among her clan and that she is in heaven with God!
