Joyce Gentry-Bolin

Joyce Ruth Gentry-Bolin passed on from this earth to her heavenly home on January 7, 2024 in Bryan, Texas. Joyce was born in Aberdeen, Mississippi on January 19, 1942.

She was proceeded in death by her mother Ruth McGhee Gentry, father Thomas Ford Gentry, and her beloved life partner Edward Duncan, who loved his “Joycie.” Joyce and Ed shared a life of many years at their home in Hilltop Lakes, TX.

Joyce, who was also known as “Granny Joyce” to her four grandchildren, loved the country of Mexico and made many trips there with Ed throughout their life. She also loved horses, flowers, and crafts.

Joyce worked as a prison guard in Huntsville, Texas for many years, and took great pride in her job. She also loved the Lord and had a heart for people. Her smile and laugh will always be remembered by those that loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Ramona Joy Bolin, four grandchildren; Amanda Marion, Wesely Cole Marion, Alex Marion, and Taylor Gentry Marion, two great grandchildren; Riley and Forrest Marion, and two sisters; Tommie Gentry Hearn and Judy Gentry Reifers.
