Joe was born in Houston, TX on December 14, 1955, and passed at his home in Caldwell, TX on Sunday August 20, 2023. He is preceded in death by his father Joseph Roy Burrell Sr and Jack Burrell, he is survived by his mother Johnnie Dale Dumesnil, his daughter Amy Marlene Burrell, granddaughters Gracie June Grimes and Kelcie Marlene Grimes, his Aunt Eunice Fay Jessup, several cousins, family members and numerous friends. Joseph was a successful business owner, an avid musician, and a loyal friend to many. He had a great sense of humor, was quick to smile, and had the biggest heart. Joe will be fondly remembered by all those who loved him.
Joseph will be laid to rest Wednesday August 30, 2023, at Callaway- Jones Funeral Center, 3001 S College Station Avenue Bryan, TX. Viewing and visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with services following directly after at 11 a.m. and ending with a procession to the burial site in Bryan, TX.
The family would like to invite everyone to enjoy a meal and swap Joe stories at CJ’s BBQ following the services at 2112 W. Briargate Dr. Bryan, TX 77802.
We are so saddened to hear of Joe’s passing. He was such a good friend to me! The times he showed me that are to numerous to mention. The laughs and good times we had together will always be cherished memories for me. Rest in peace my friend! Thank you for believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself! Until we meet agian!
